Hi,
I am operating with Windows 7 64 bit (6.1.7601); Intel Core i7, 8GB RAM. I have attached my system information if there is anything else that might help!
My problem is pretty frustrating. I've just bought a Brother Printer (MFC-J6510DW) and have been trying to get Brother's Control Center 4 (CC4) to install to my laptop. The installation process works fine, and my laptop is able to 'connect' to the printer, yet when I try to open the CC4 application, nothing happens. The icon is visible, it is visible in my program files, and even shows as running in my Notification Area. Yet when I double click the icon, the mouse shows the spinning loading symbol, then nothing!
I've contacted Brother, and they have been pretty unhelpful. As the software is running without issue on my girlfriends laptop though, who is also operating on Windows 7 64 Bit, they have suggested that it may be an issue with my laptop as opposed to the software. That's why I came here!
I have tried a multitude of solutions, and none have worked yet. Having scoured the web for similar situations, I have yet to find a similar situation or solution.
This includes;
-Running program as administrator
-Reinstalling the software (a lot!)
-Running the program in various other compatibility modes (XP and Vista - not really sure what I was doing here, so that still might be an option to try properly!)
-Updating the software with the latest update via Brother's support website, including updating the Printers firmware
-Installing the software entirely of Brothers website, as opposed to using the provided installation CD
I'm not particularly good with technical computer knowledge, so any help would be much appreciated; I really need to get this software working. Without it, I am unable to scan over the network wirelessly, which is one of the reasons I bought the printer!
Many thanks,

I had this issue in Windows 10. I had to find the uninstaller file for the Brother suite. You can use many different free utilities to get the registry value that is a command that uninstalls the software. This is how mine worked. My registry key for my add/remove (programs and features) menu command was:
the command was in the
uninstallstring
value:Click Brother Utilities. Under the Scan tab, click ControlCenter4. Double-click the Brother Utilities icon on your desktop.-or-Click → (All Apps) → Brother → Brother Utilities. Under the Scan tab, click ControlCenter4. The ControlCenter4 will open and also the CC4 icon will appear in the task tray.
I had to right click on the Setup.exe file and go to compatibility tab and set windows 8 compatibility mode, this will differ depending on your printer/OS combination. I had to run command prompt as administrator, then run the above command. This allowed the installer to remove it all, it had the brother printer name #2 #3 #4 #5 all checked for removal! After rebooting I was totally clean from all brother (I have a MFC-J435W). After this I installed my drivers that I downloaded from the support site. I strongly suggest setting win 8 compatibility mode on the setup file for that! Couldn't print certain things without the website driver.
THIS WORKS FOR OTHER SOFTWARE TOO
